EXPLORE IMAP
More than dots
on a map.
A thoughtful set of tools for the people you visit, the places you discover, and the details you want to keep.
CONTACTS
Put your people in perspective.
Map device contacts with addresses, select groups, or import your own lists. Contacts access is optional: you can work with imported files without opening your address book.
- Choose the sources you want to map
- Import CSV, contact .imap, and GeoJSON files
- Review missing or uncertain addresses before relying on pins
ROUTES
Turn places into a plan.
Start from your current location, an app origin, an address, or a pin. Add your stops, choose where the route ends, and save the plan for later.
- Reorder multiple stops with nearest-next-stop optimization
- Review driving estimates and numbered stops
- Open each leg in Apple Maps and mark stops Visited or Skipped
TRAILS
Keep the path, too.
Record a GPS breadcrumb trail for a walk, site visit, or day of exploring. Saved trails bring your movement back into view alongside your pins.
- Track distance, duration, and recorded GPS points
- Find saved trails by name or calendar day
- Share raw points as CSV or a trail .imap file
NOTES
Remember what you noticed.
Attach photos, voice recordings, transcriptions, and written field notes to a pin. Keep site observations and useful details with their location.
- Capture visual context at a place
- Add quick voice observations and written summaries
- Export field notes as a report
NEARBY
Look around before moving on.
Search near a selected pin, the app origin, or your current location. Planner helps you explore an area before you turn a useful discovery into a saved pin.
- Find food, fuel, EV charging, lodging, and services
- Save useful results as pins
- Use those pins for notes, distances, and routes
FILTERS
A clearer view of your day.
Reusable Show and Hide rules focus the map without deleting contacts. Work with fields such as city, organization, pin color, notes, or custom territory values.
- Combine saved rules to narrow your working set
- Choose an origin for distances and sorting
- Keep your source files and full contact list intact
GOOD TO KNOW
Your device. Your choices.
iMap stores your content locally. Mapping, address lookup, nearby searches, and directions use Apple services; some features need a network connection and the permissions you choose to grant.
